The horror film club at CC rises from the dead! What do folk horror and zombie movies have in common? Pretty much everything! Next Tuesday, we’ll be watching I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE — a film where the psychological introspection typical of Gothic tradition is turned inside out, exposing the genre’s fundamental contradictions in how we experience history. Using it as a starting point, we’ll discuss how the undead came into the collective imagination, what forms they take, and how they point our thoughts towards colonialism and cultural alienation. Runtime: 1 hour 9 minutes Entry: A sacrificial offering of at least 10 GEL. On the evening of August 12, we crawl under the floorboards of the Community Center. Our gathering starts at 20:00. The film will be screened in English with subtitles (Russian/English, depending on attendees’ preferences).
