This guided excursion explores the territory of Georgia, which has played a significant role since prehistoric times, especially due to its position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The fertile natural conditions facilitated the early settlement of the region by our ancestors. Proximity to the oldest centers of civilization defined the prosperity of the Bronze Age chiefdoms that left magnificent cultural monuments. During the excursion, attendees will embark on a journey through time to the distant Bronze Age and medieval Georgia, discussing the social, economic, and technological features of the population in those ancient periods, relying on a unique museum collection. Pavel Kolosnitsyn is an archaeologist and author of over 50 scientific articles, who conducted archaeological research in the Novgorod region and Veliky Novgorod for more than 20 years.
